I recently had to this beautiful mama in the studio for a special Maternity Glamour session. She showed up at the studio and had her hair and make-up done by Ledda. I love these images. She didn’t know what gown we’d be using for the session and to my surprise she had pale purple highlights that matched it perfectly. I ordered this fitted gown from EmbieBaby on Etsy. While Amanda was getting her hair and make up ready for her session I pulled some silk flowers out of my very large silk flower stash and put together a beautiful flower crown that complimented the gown and wearer perfectly.
Towards the end of the session I did a little playing and captured a slightly imperfect silhouette. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the image, but last week I was playing around with it and decided it would make a great digital negative for making a Cyanotype. I haven’t pulled out my cyanotype chemistry yet, but I did have a quick play with it in one of my favorite photo editing programs. It gave me a pretty good approximation of what the image will look like when I take the time to make an actual cyanotype print.
I think I’ve found myself a new photo project with this and I plan to incorporate one with each booked maternity session in the future.
