How soon should I book my portrait session?
The sooner the better. We have a limited number of sessions that Austin Newborn Photography can accommodate per month and my schedule often fills quickly, so contact me as soon as you can to reserve your session.
When is the best time to photograph a Newborn?
Simply put anytime in the first six weeks. However, many photographers will only photograph a newborn is between 5 and 14 days. We will not turn you away because you have an “elder” newborn. Sessions are available throughout the first 6 weeks. Different poses are easier with really young newborns, but we can still create beautiful images of your baby that is older than two weeks.
What if I book a Newborn session and my baby comes early or late?
Babies rarely come on their due date. All Newborn sessions are scheduled tentatively. Basically we note baby’s due date on the schedule and count out approximately two weeks out and mark that as well. Once baby arrives we will adjust the scheduled appointment. Once your session retainer fee is paid you are guaranteed a session.
When is the best time to have a maternity session?
Maternity portraits are best between 30 and 35 of your pregnancy. You will have a beautiful baby bump at this time and be still be comfortable to pose for the portraits.
Do you provide the props for the Newborn session?
Yes, Austin Newborn Photography / Valerie Kay Photography provides everything needed to style your newborn session. I have a large variety of props, hats, bonnets, outfits, wraps, and baskets. In fact I hand make a many of the adorable little knit pieces I use for my newborn sessions.
Do you sell Gift Certificates?
Yes, We do offer Gift Certificates.
