Newborn Session at Valerie Kay Photography’s Studio in Austin, TX
Hello and happy Sunday! I’m here to share a little bit of one of my last newborn portrait sessions. Little Miss Eliza came in for her newborn session when she was just about fourteen days new. She was the cutest little blonde, just like her big brother and sister. Mom was a little worried about her hair, but I think that blonde fluff is just adorable in her portraits. We had a wonderful time hanging out in the studio and taking pictures, even though Eliza was a bit camera shy. However, she loved to be swaddled and settled once she was wrapped up tight. She especially liked the snuggle sack. I think she looks like one of those little Russian Matryoshka nesting dolls when she is wearing the bonnet and snuggle sack.
As usual, I spent the week leading up to the session knitting and gathering props. For this newborn session I made a bit of pink and purple fluff that is used in my favorite basket and a coordinating knit swaddle sack and bonnet set. I found the fluffy yarn for the basket stuffer at Tuesday Morning and knew it would be perfect made into a boa to layer in the bottom of a basket. When I got home I found that I had the perfect yarn to make a snuggle sack and bonnet to match the basket fluff. I absolutely love making special little bits for each precious little baby that comes into the studio. I think it is one of the best parts of preparing for my baby sessions. Do you have any hobbies that play well with work?
