I cannot believe how far behind I am at updating the blog with my baby sessions! Baby Evelyn was in the studio a few months ago with her Mother, Father, and super cute BIG brother. She is such a sweetie, but she sure made me work that day. We started with family poses so that big brother could go to the park with dad while we finished up her session. Once she was finally settled and a sleep we got lots of great images. She especially liked being swaddled up tight in my soft, pink lace wrap. Here are some of the wonderful images from baby Evelyn’s newborn session:
We did a few different poses with Mom, Dad, and big Brother. I just love the photos of Grayson with his baby sister. They are just too sweet. Big brother Grayson was super helpful, too, and helped me set my lights for his family’s photos. His test shot is one of my favorites of him from the entire session.
Before Dad and Grayson left the studio for a little fun at the park I took a photo of Evelyn’s little head resting in her dad’s hands. This is one of my favorite images to make at a newborn session. Newborns are only this little for a very short time and it’s something I want to make sure the family has a record of. She was still awake when her dad and brother left the studio and I wrapped up up in some lace and did a quick snap of her before we took a break to try and help her go back to sleep for the rest of her session.
However, Evelyn had other ideas and her mom and I decided to get the rest of the session on another day. I’m flexible like that. I don’t want to keep pushing the baby if they’re not feeling up to the session. It’s easier to just have mom and dad bring the baby back in to the studio instead of fighting a fussy baby. Everything at the newborn session depends on the baby. Newborn sessions can last up to four hours, but sometimes baby just needs a break. So Evelyn came back a couple days later and finished up her session like a pro.
I knit her bonnet in this last one. The pattern is from one of my favorite Etsy shops. Doesn’t she look adorable wearing it?
